Agartala, July 14: In a major initiative to strengthen administrative capacity and promote good governance, 27 newly recruited Tripura Civil Service (TCS) officers have begun a 10-day customised training programme at the prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie.

The programme, introduced under the leadership of Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, marks the first time that Tripura has sent a batch of TCS officers for a specially designed training programme at India’s premier civil services academy. The initiative is aimed at equipping officers with the skills and knowledge required to meet the evolving challenges of governance and public administration.

The inaugural session was chaired by LBSNAA Director and senior Tripura cadre IAS officer Sriram Taranikanti, who congratulated the newly recruited officers and urged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, honesty and compassion throughout their careers.

Addressing the participants, Taranikanti said the role of a civil servant extends beyond routine administration. He encouraged the officers to embrace ethical leadership, innovation, empathy and a strong commitment to public welfare while serving the people.

Deputy Director Deep Jagdip welcomed the participants and expressed confidence that the programme would prepare them to effectively address the complex demands of modern governance.

Joint Director Priya Mishra provided an overview of the curriculum, which includes modules on public policy, district administration, ethics, leadership, financial management, disaster management, digital governance, good governance practices, case studies, field learning and interactive sessions with senior administrators and faculty members.

Showcasing Tripura’s rich cultural and agricultural heritage, the trainee officers presented Director Taranikanti with a replica of the revered Mata Tripureswari Temple, along with GI-tagged Matabari Pera, the state’s organic scented lemon, and aromatic Kalikhasa rice.

The officers described the programme as a valuable opportunity to learn from India’s foremost civil services training institution. They expressed gratitude to the Tripura Government and LBSNAA for the initiative and pledged to apply the knowledge, professional skills and ethical values gained during the training to deliver efficient, transparent and citizen-centric governance across Tripura.
