Agartala, May 11: Convocation ceremony of the Central Agricultural University was held at the campus hall of Fishery College in Lembuchara on Sunday. Chairman of ISRO Dr V Narayanan had attended the programme.
The university on Sunday celebrated their academic excellence and a commitment to nation building. The event witnessed the conferment of degrees to over 1500 students from 28 states, graduating across 13 constituent colleges located throughout the North east region of the country.
In his keynote address, ISRO Chairman Dr Narayanan congratulated the graduates and commended CAU’s role in shaping future leaders in agriculture and allied sectors. Quoting former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan,” he inspired the youth to contribute actively to India’s development journey. Emphasizing India’s rise as a global power, he praised ISRO’s achievements and highlighted the role of agriculture in the nation’s transformation. Dr. Narayanan encouraged graduates to align their personal goals with national aspirations, recognizing them as valuable assets to the country.
33 undergraduate and 20 Post graduate students were awarded with Gold medal while the prestigious AkoijamUdhab Singh Memorial Award was presented to nine (09) outstanding doctoral scholars. Prof. Indira Sarangthem, Director of Instruction, Dean, and Chairman of the Board of Studies, presented the candidates for the conferment of degrees. Dr. T. R. Sharma, Registrar, led the academic procession and presented the candidates for the award of University Gold Medals and Memorial Medals.
