Agartala, May 17 – CPI(M) leader Bijan Acharjee’s passing has been met with deep sorrow by party members. Politburo member and CPI(M) state secretary Jitendra Chowdhury mourned the loss alongside senior party figures.

Today, as Acharjee’s mortal remains were brought to the party office at Melar Maath, several CPI(M) leaders, including former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Left Front convenor Manik Dey, former Minister Ratan Bhowmik, and former MP Shankar Prasad Dutta, gathered to pay their final respects.

Speaking to journalists, Jitendra Chowdhury reflected on Acharjee’s contributions to the party. He described Acharya as a dedicated and efficient worker who, after retiring from his banking career, continued to serve as an accountant at the CPI(M) state office with integrity and diligence. Chowdhury expressed profound grief over Acharjee’s untimely passing.

Party leaders and supporters continue to remember Acharjee’s commitment and service.
