Agartala, May 20: The Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDC) today acquired land, sheds and fixed assets of 12 industrial units under Bodhjangnagar and RK Nagar Industrial Complex.

The units were closed and abandoned for a long time. As a result, the highly valuable land and sheds of Bodhjangnagar and RK Nagar were lying unused. The Corporation was unable to allot land and sheds to new units. Also, Rs. 63,90,248 was due for rent of land and sheds from these 12 industrial units and the owners of these units were not responding to the demand notices from the Corporation for payment of the arrears of rent.

Ain view of this the TIDC was forced to take a decision to acquire the land and sheds along with the structures constructed under the Tripura Public Premises Act. As per the decision, TIDC acquired land from Khumpui Global Services (0.40 acre), BR Rubtech Industries (1.00 acre), ATW Millennium Concept (one shed), Agartala Electrical LLP (0.50 acre and one shed), Simanta Handicraft Products Private Limited (2.00 acres), ARI Pavers Private Limited (0.50 acre), North East Solar Energy Systems LLP (one shed), Prime & Pure Food Industries (two sheds), Pro Rub Craft Private Limited (2.00 acres), Pro Rub Craft Private Limited (1.06 acres), (Mounded Rubber Goods Division), Inoculation Accessories NE Private Limited (1.00 acre) and Joy Chandimata Cold Storage & Agencies Private Limited (2.00 acres). A total of 11.00 acres of acquired land and 5 sheds have been acquired for reuse.

To promote investment and create employment, these lands and sheds will be allocated for setting up new industries as per the rules.
