In alignment with its nationwide strategy, the Congress party in Tripura launched a door-to-door leaflet distribution campaign on Sunday, aiming to highlight key public concerns that, according to the party, were never addressed in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s long-running radio programme Mann Ki Baat.

The campaign was flagged off from Congress Bhavan in Agartala, with party workers fanning out to distribute leaflets in the Post Office Chowmuhani area. The Congress has pledged to carry out similar outreach activities in households across the entire state in the coming days.

The leaflets distributed during the campaign outline several pressing issues, including the rising cost of essential commodities, surging unemployment, increasing crimes against women, social injustice, and the continued marginalization of Scheduled Tribes (STs), Scheduled Castes (SCs), Other Backward Classes (OBCs), and religious minorities.

Tripura Pradesh Congress leaders argued that despite the 11-year run of Mann Ki Baat, many of these grassroots concerns have remained conspicuously absent from the Prime Minister’s narrative. They further claimed that the programme has often served as a monologue rather than a true dialogue with the public.

In the leaflet, the Congress poses direct questions to the people, encouraging them to reflect on their lived experiences and the real issues affecting their daily lives. The party maintains that this campaign is intended not just as criticism, but as an appeal to restore focus on the real needs of ordinary citizens.

Through this initiative, the Congress seeks to engage with voters at the ground level, reinvigorating political discourse around bread-and-butter issues that they believe have been sidelined amid broader national rhetoric.
