Quetta, August 1:
Prominent Baloch human rights activist Mir Yar Baloch has reached out to Indian public and private sector companies, urging them to explore strategic partnerships in unlocking the vast economic potential of Balochistan. In a letter sent Friday, Mir positioned India as Balochistan’s “most natural and trusted development partner,” citing the country’s democratic values, technological prowess, and regional proximity.

Highlighting Balochistan’s unique geopolitical location at the crossroads of South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East, Mir pointed to its extensive 1,000-kilometre coastline along the Arabian Sea and its proximity to global maritime trade routes. He emphasized that beneath its rugged terrain lie untapped resources worth trillions of dollars—ranging from rare earth minerals, gold, and copper to oil, coal, lithium, and natural gas.

The activist envisioned a “free and sovereign Republic of Balochistan” that would prioritize inclusive development, powered by international partnerships—especially with India. He argued that India’s skilled workforce and technological edge offer a “once-in-a-generation” opportunity to build a new nation from the ground up.

Mir outlined a comprehensive development blueprint with job creation potential for over one million Indian professionals across 30 high-impact industries. These include the automotive sector (40,000 jobs), aerospace and defence (15,000 jobs), railways and electric vehicles (20,000 jobs), space technology (2,000 jobs), heavy engineering (4,000 jobs), electronics and semiconductor manufacturing (1,000 jobs), shipbuilding (8,000 jobs), energy and mineral exploration (20,000 jobs), and renewable energy (60,000 jobs).

He stressed that Balochistan offers India far more than trade opportunities—it promises strategic depth, enhanced energy security, and regional peace.

Mir’s appeal signals a push for international engagement in a region long plagued by conflict and underdevelopment, positioning Balochistan as a future hub of economic transformation.
