Sushanta pushes for completion of Champaknagar–Ranirbazar National Highway maintaining quality standard
Agartala, Sept 10: Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury has instructed officials to ensure the timely completion of the Champaknagar–Ranirbazar National Highway while maintaining strict adherence to quality standards. He emphasized that all government guidelines related to highway construction must be implemented in full spirit.
The minister was speaking at a review meeting on the progress of various developmental projects, held today at the Jirania Sub-Divisional Office conference hall.
Highlighting the upcoming Durga Puja festivities, Chowdhury directed concerned departments to expedite road repair works, ensure uninterrupted power supply, take effective measures to address drinking water issues, and maintain law and order. He also urged Block Development Officers (BDOs) and officials to take necessary steps to ensure that wages under MGNREGA and TUEP projects are disbursed to workers before the Puja.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of projects under the Water Resources, Social Welfare & Social Education, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Fire & Emergency Services, Forest, Rural Development, and Food departments, among others.
Among those present were Jirania Panchayat Samiti Chairman Pritam Debnath, Jirania Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Ratan Kumar Das and Vice-Chairperson Rita Das, Ranirbazar Municipal Council Chairperson Aparna Shukla Das, Jirania BAC Chairman Shubhamani Debbarma, Belbari BAC Chairman Roken Debbarma, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Animesh Dhar, SDPO Sudhir Kumar, Additional SDM Pamela Saha, Jirania BDO Tushar Alam, social workers Gauranga Bhowmik, Abhijit Debbarma, Rajesh Bhowmik, along with officials from various departments.
