Agartala: April 08: The Honorable Minister of Tribal Welfare and Education, Bikas Debbarma, announced the approval of six Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) for Tripura during a press interaction at Agartala Airport. The announcement followed his meeting with Mr. Vibhu Nair, Secretary of the Tribal Welfare Department Ministry, in Delhi.
Minister Debbarma described the initiative as a significant step forward for the state’s education sector, particularly in tribal-dominated areas. He emphasized that these schools aim to provide modern infrastructure, residential facilities, and an environment conducive to holistic development. According to him, the schools will not only enhance educational opportunities but also foster leadership qualities, confidence, and creativity among students.
The minister highlighted the importance of education as the backbone of a nation and urged parents, teachers, and citizens to actively participate in this transformative journey. He assured that the implementation of the schools would begin promptly through collaboration between the central and state governments.
