Agartala, May 17: The state tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Friday chaired a meeting at Jirania in West Tripura district and said that responding to the proposal of the Tripura government, the Centre has approved establishment of Nicco park-model modern recreational park at Sachindranagar in Jirania subdivision.
In the meeting, the minister said that various plans are being implemented to develop the tourism industry in the state. A plan has been taken to build a modern and recreational park in the Sachindranagar area of Jirania, he said, adding that this park will be built on the model of Nicco park in Kolkata.
The minister further said that once the recreational park is built in the Sachindranagar area, employment opportunities will be created for the local people, while business and trade in this area will expand to further boost the economy.
Jirania Panchayat Samiti Chairman Pritam Debnath, Jirania Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Ratan Kumar Das, Ranirbazar Municipal Council Vice Chairperson Prabir Kumar Das, West Tripura Zilla Parishad Member Shivayan Das, Tourism Department MD Prashant Badal Negi, Joint Director Aniruddha Roy, and others were present in the meeting.
