Agartala, April 16: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday chaired a meeting through video conferencing with the District Magistrates and Superintendent of Police of all the eight districts of the state and directed to listen to the people’s grievances and fix them accordingly for the overall development of the state.
Dr Saha directed the DMs and SPs to regularly visit the areas with the district level officials of other departments and take initiatives to solve the problems of the people.
The Chief Minister laid special emphasis on strict legal action against drug traffickers and those associated with it and identification of drug prone areas. Dr Saha also directed the police to take action as per law by making a list of those involved in illegal activities in the police station area of each district.
Issues related to health, drinking water, education, law and order, roads, measures against drug traffickers and taking strong steps against illegal activities in various areas were discussed in the meeting. The Chief Minister emphasized in the meeting to take necessary measures for drinking water supply, traffic control in Agartala city.
Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department Kiran GItte, Secretary to Chief Minister Apurba Roy, Special Secretary of Affairs Department Debapriya Bardhan, Additional Secretary of Revenue Department Tamal Majumder, and other officials were present in the meeting with the Chief Minister.
