Agartala, April 27: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Sunday distributed offers of appointment to the qualified candidates for various government posts and urged upon the appointed employees to work diligently for the public interest.

Dr Saha said that the present government is providing government jobs by formulating recruitment policy with transparency. “Today all those who joined government jobs got jobs based on merit,” Dr Saha said and called upon all present to finish the work on time with transparency.

197 candidates qualified for the post of Junior Engineer in the Department of Public Works, 126 candidates for the posts of CDPO and ICDS Supervisor in the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education, 156 for the posts of Assistant Manager, Cash cum general clerk and multi tasking staff. A total of 479 candidates were distributed with their offers of appointment on Sunday.

Dr Saha said that in 2025, 3,296 people have received government job appointment letters so far. A total of 16942 people have been appointed in various departments of the state government since the financial year 2018-19, Dr Ssha added.

Moreover, 5,771 people have been employed in various government departments on outsourcing and contract basis.

The Chief Minister said that employment opportunities have been created in the state through cooperatives. About 9 lakh people are directly and indirectly associated with cooperatives. At present 53,623 self-help groups have been formed in the state under the initiative of Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission. More than 4 lakh women are associated with it, he said, adding that more than 63,000 women are involved in 5,941 self-help groups under the Tripura Urban Livelihood Mission.
