Agartala, June 01: In yet another move to boost eco-tourism in the state of Tripura, the government is mulling to establish a water park at Sabroom, bordering to the neighbouring country of Bangladesh.
The state tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Sunday visited the proposed site at Sabroom Ludhuwa in South Tripura district. Director of Tourism Department Prashant Badal Negi, former MLA and social worker Shankar Roy, along with various officials and locals were present in the visit of the minister.
Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that in a joint initiative of the state government and the central government, a plan has been taken to construct an eco-tourism water park at Ludwa in Sabroom, South Tripura district, with the financial support of the central government and the efforts of the state government, in order to make Tripura’s tourism industry more attractive to tourists.
The minister visited the proposed site and discussed in detail with the officials present about the plan to start its construction work at the earliest.
He said that Tripura has immense potential in the field of tourism and is blessed with endless natural beauty in every corner. To showcase this natural beauty on the world map, world-class tourist centers are being developed in different parts of the state under the initiative of the Tourism Department, he added.
