Agartala: May 23: The ongoing investigation into the murder of nine-year-old Ujjashikha Tripura has taken a new direction, as police have arrested her brother and detained her mother for questioning. Ujjashikha had gone missing on May 21, and her body was discovered the following morning in a rubber plantation near her home, leading to widespread concern and outrage in the community.

Her parents have alleged that she was murdered, prompting a police inquiry. Authorities have conducted an autopsy and questioned Sahail Tripura (18), the victim’s brother, along with her mother, Sabita Tripura, as part of their investigation.

In response to the incident, a delegation from the All India Democratic Women’s Association visited the family to express condolences. They later met with local police officials, calling for a thorough investigation and demanding justice for the young girl.

The case continues to unfold as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding Ujjashikha’s death.
