Agartala, May 30: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Friday inaugurated a blood donation camp here at Agartala, organised by the Tripura Cricket Association and urged upon the budding cricketers of the state to stay focused on their goal. Dr Saha said that key to success in sports is a regular practise.
Addressing the event, the Chief Minister said that the present government of the state is taking various initiatives to explore new talents in the field of sports. Along with this, importance is being given to developing the sports infrastructure of the state, he added.
Dr Saha also flagged off a battery-operated drinks van, designed to supply drinks to the cricketers on the field.
“TCA plays a key role in finding cricket talent and improving the quality of cricket. Apart from urban areas, there are many talented players in the marginal areas of the state as well. They need to be brought forward,” Dr Saha said, adding that coaches should be aware of the advantages and disadvantages and problems of the players. It is also necessary to build a good relationship between players and coaches, he said.
Meanwhile, the state sports and youths affairs minister Tinku Roy said that the Tripura Cricket Association has been working throughout the year for the development of cricket in the state. TCA has also to play an important role in bringing out the talent living in the marginalized areas of the state, he said, adding that the state government not only provides opportunities to the players, but also gives them respect.
