Agartala: May 19: CPM Politburo member and opposition leader Jitendra Choudhury visited the Chanmari area of Agartala this morning following the tragic death of two children. He called upon the administration to ensure that the affected family receives government assistance.

Addressing journalists, Choudhury stated that the victims—11-year-old Prosenjit Debnath and 9-year-old Priyanka Debnath, children of Krishna Debnath—were found deceased in a small pit used for construction work near their residence. The incident occurred yesterday, and upon his visit today, he learned that the parents had moved to their home in Jirania.

Choudhury reaffirmed his appeal for administrative intervention to provide necessary support to the grieving family, emphasizing the importance of ensuring they receive government benefits during this difficult time.
