Agartala, May 13 – A political dispute has surfaced in Agartala, with Payel Das, the Mandal Secretary of the 6 Agartala Assembly Constituency, making allegations against Santana Saha, the Corporator of Ward No. 12 of Agartala Municipal Corporation.

During a press conference at Agartala Press Club, Payel Das stated that she had a disagreement with Corporator Santana Saha over flood relief distribution on August 23 last year. She claimed that despite informing party leadership, no action was taken. Three days later, she filed a police complaint regarding the matter.

Following this, BJP’s Sadar District President Asim Bhattacharjee reportedly assured her that the issue would be addressed. Payel Das later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), but she claims that no resolution was provided.

On March 29, during a meeting at the Mandal office, another incident occurred. Payel Das stated that she was informed about a misplaced mobile phone belonging to Corporator Santana Saha. Later, Santana Saha filed a police complaint,alleging that Payel Das had taken and destroyed the phone.

Payel Das was summoned for questioning,and she later informed party leaderswho assured her that the matter would be resolved.

On Monday, Payel Das received a legal notice instructing her to appear in court on May 19, with a bail amount of ₹10,000 She claims that the incident was pre-plannedto frame her.
