Agartala: April 06: The Youth Congress is set to launch a statewide mass movement against the growing spread of addiction, job-related corruption, and nepotism. To this end, an important organizational meeting of the Youth Congress’s executive committee was held on Sunday at the Pradesh Congress office.
The meeting was attended by the state president of the Youth Congress, Neelkamal Saha, along with other leaders. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Saha stated, “The youth of the state are in a dire crisis today. On one hand, there is the grip of addiction, and on the other, widespread corruption and nepotism in the name of providing jobs. We are about to build an intense mass movement on all these issues.”
He further mentioned that this movement will not be limited to urban areas but will extend from district to block levels. The Youth Congress president also warned that they would take to the streets to protest against the government in defense of the interests of the youth.
According to party sources, a specific program for the movement will be announced in the coming days. Plans have been made for protest meetings, rallies, and sit-in demonstrations across various parts of the state.
Political analysts believe that this movement by the Youth Congress against the state government could put pressure on the ruling party.
