Agartala, May 31: The state animal resource development department minister Sudhangshu Das on Saturday paid a surprise visit to R K Nagar Veterinary Hospital and interacted with the health workers, staff and officials.

During the visit, the minister emphasised on advancement of the hospital service and said that advanced and upgraded equipment is essential to enhance the quality of treatment in this lone veterinary hospital. Thousands of people are dependent on this hospital to take health services for their livestock and pets, he added.

Das was accompanied by MLA Ratan Chakraborty, ARDD Director Neeraj Kr. Chanchal and other departmental officials.

Underscoring the critical role of the hospital, the minister said that the hospital plays a key role in providing healthcare for livestock and pets in the region. He said, “It is vital that our veterinary professionals offer full and compassionate care.”

The Minister however noted certain shortcomings and assured that immediate steps would be taken to resolve them. He however urged the hospital authorities to submit a proposal for necessary technological enhancements.
