Agartala: August 19: In New Delhi today, a solemn tribute was paid on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, the architect of modern Tripura by MP Rajib Bhattacharjee. The event was marked with floral offerings and remembrance, bringing together leaders, students, and dignitaries to honor the Maharaja’s enduring legacy.
The ceremony witnessed the participation of a large number of students from Tripura who are currently pursuing higher studies in the national capital. Their presence added significance to the occasion as Maharaja Bir Bikram had always envisioned Tripura as a hub of education, with modern institutions that could empower future generations.
MP Rajib Bhattacharjeeattended the event to pay their respects along with state ministers Bikas Debbarma and Santana Chakma, former MP Rebati Tripura, MLAs Rampada Jamatia, Mailafru Mog, and Shambhu Lal Chakma, along with former MLA and Janajati Morcha president Parimal Debbarma. Also present were MDC Bimal Chakma and Pradesh BJP General Secretary Bipin Debbarma.
