Agartala, Sep 09: Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Tuesday inaugurated the five-day National Integration Camp 2025 at the Urban Haat, Purbasha Complex in Agartala, marking the first-ever such event hosted in Tripura.

The camp, jointly organized by the Department of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of Tripura, and Tripura State Bharat Scouts and Guides, with support from the Bharat Scouts and Guides headquarters in New Delhi, aims to promote unity in diversity among India’s youth. Delegates from 18 states, including host Tripura, are taking part.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the core objective of the camp is to foster patriotism by facilitating cultural exchange among young people from diverse backgrounds. “Youth are the future builders of the nation. This camp will strengthen the spirit of national integration by creating bonds across languages, traditions, and cultures,” he stated.

Dr. Saha emphasized that the theme of this year’s camp is “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.” He underlined the guiding principle of the Scouts and Guides — “Be Prepared” — as a lifelong commitment towards service to the nation. He also highlighted the camp’s broader goals, including awareness on social issues, leadership building, teamwork, confidence, and encouraging youth to contribute towards preserving India’s cultural heritage.

The Chief Minister further informed that Tripura has 6,070 registered Scouts and Guides, supported by 214 unit leaders, 365 open rovers and rangers, and 38 recipients of the President’s Award. He noted that Scouts and Guides in the state actively organize social campaigns such as anti-drug drives, International Yoga Day, Independence Day parades, blood donation camps, and tree plantation programmes throughout the year.

The camp features a range of activities, including folk songs and dances, patriotic music, traditional food stalls, cultural exhibitions, integration games, cleanliness drives, and campfire sessions.

Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Tinku Roy, who also spoke at the event, said, “The motto ‘Be Prepared’ means staying ready to serve the nation at all times. No other country in the world reflects such diversity as India, and this diversity forms the foundation of our unity. Scouts and Guides play a crucial role in building a drug-free, self-reliant society.”
