Agartala, Sept 12: In a significant step toward making religious services more accessible, the historic Tripurasundari Temple at Matabari has introduced an online system for devotees to offer puja and donations. Matabari MLA Abhishek Debroy on Friday formally launched the service.
Debroy said that devotees from across India and abroad can now book their preferred date and time for puja through the online platform. “This service will allow pilgrims who cannot visit in person to offer their prayers conveniently from anywhere in the world,” he said.
The system also provides an option for devotees to make online donations to the Matabari Temple Trust. The minimum offering for online puja has been set at ₹50, with no upper limit.
Responding to a query on whether online devotees would receive prasadam, Debroy confirmed that arrangements have been made to send it via courier, with devotees required to bear the delivery cost.
He further noted that for years, many devotees, both in India and abroad, longed to receive blessings and prasadam from the goddess but could not travel in time. “This service will fulfill that aspiration and bring devotees closer to Maa Tripurasundari,” he added.
The Tripurasundari Shaktipeeth is among the most revered pilgrimage sites in Northeast India, and the online service marks a historic first for the temple.
