Assam Rifles organised a three-day Unity Ride Bicycle Expedition from Agartala to Srikona on 25 November 2025, aiming to promote the spirit of national unity and strengthen the bond between security forces and civilians. The initiative drew enthusiastic participation from both Assam Rifles personnel and local residents, underscoring a shared commitment to fostering harmony and togetherness across the region.

The 290-km expedition is designed to showcase the natural beauty, cultural diversity and geographical variety of the Northeast. The journey begins in Agartala, passing through its lush plains and vibrant green countryside. As the cyclists move toward Jirania and Ambassa, they experience rolling hills, dense forests, and slopes lined with towering bamboo. This scenic yet challenging stretch reflects the rugged charm of Tripura’s interior landscape.

Further along the route, the team pedals through the serene, hilly and heavily forested terrain of Bagbasa, where nature’s tranquillity creates a refreshing backdrop for the expedition. Entering Assam in the final phase, the cyclists are welcomed by the expansive valleys, open greenery and picturesque tea gardens that lead the way to Srikona. Each segment of the expedition highlights the region’s breathtaking beauty while symbolizing the unity of diverse terrains and communities.

The expedition was flagged off by the Hon’ble Sports Minister of Tripura, Shri Tinku Roy, who commended the riders for undertaking this meaningful journey. He lauded their courage, determination and dedication to promoting national integration through such purposeful initiatives.

The Unity Ride will culminate at Srikona after three days, carrying forward a powerful message of solidarity and inclusiveness. Through this initiative, Assam Rifles reinforces its role not only as a guardian of borders but also as a promoter of peace, cohesion and national unity across the Northeast.
