Agartala, February 21: Tripura Gramin Bank has brought pride to the state by securing the National Award for Outstanding Performance in SHG–Bank Linkage for 2024–25. The honour was conferred at a National Conclave held in Hyderabad and organized by the Ministry of Rural Development under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana–National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY–NRLM).
The award was received by the bank’s Chairman, Satyendra Singh, who described the recognition as a testament to the collective dedication, teamwork and sustained efforts that have strengthened Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and empowered rural women across Tripura. He emphasized that the achievement reflects the bank’s consistent commitment to financial inclusion and grassroots development.
Expressing gratitude, the bank acknowledged the leadership and guidance of Tarit Kanti Chakma, IAS, Chief Executive Officer of the Tripura Rural Livelihoods Mission (TRLM), and Dipayan Ghosh, Chief Operating Officer of TRLM. Their coordination and strategic support were described as instrumental in achieving the milestone. The state administration was also credited for providing strong policy backing and an enabling ecosystem that reinforced the TRLM–TGB partnership.
Officials highlighted that the award belongs not only to the institution but to every SHG member, rural entrepreneur and stakeholder who contributed to the journey. Over the years, effective SHG–bank linkages have played a pivotal role in expanding access to credit, promoting livelihood opportunities and strengthening women-led enterprises in rural areas.
The recognition underscores Tripura’s growing prominence in advancing inclusive financial growth and sustainable rural prosperity. Tripura Gramin Bank reaffirmed its commitment to further deepening SHG–bank partnerships and continuing its mission of empowering rural communities across the state.
