Agartala, March 9: Road construction work has officially commenced in the Nayanbari area of Sachindranagar, bringing relief to residents of the agriculture-dependent locality. The development was announced by Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury.
The Minister recalled that during his visit to the area on January 21, 2026, local villagers had submitted a list of demands outlining several urgent issues faced by the community. Taking immediate note of their concerns, Chowdhury instructed officials from various departments who were present at the site to initiate necessary steps without delay.
Following those directions, work on the construction of a paved road in the Nayanbari area has now begun. According to the Minister, the project aims to improve connectivity and make daily transportation easier for residents of the locality.
Speaking on the occasion, Chowdhury assured that the construction work would be completed within the next few days so that the benefits could reach the people at the earliest.
“This road will significantly improve connectivity in the area and make transportation easier for local residents. It will especially benefit farmers who depend on better road access to transport their agricultural produce to nearby markets,” the Minister said.
Residents of the area have welcomed the initiative, describing it as a long-awaited development for the community. The new road is expected to enhance accessibility, reduce travel difficulties, and strengthen the agricultural community’s connection to markets and essential services in Tripura.
