Agartala, June 21: Tripura Gramin Bank on Sunday observed the International Day of Yoga 2026 with a special yoga session at its head office in Agartala, reaffirming its commitment to employee wellness and holistic development. The programme was organised in collaboration with The Art of Living Foundation, Tripura, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from bank officials and employees.

The event was attended by Tripura Gramin Bank Chairman Satyendra Singh, General Manager Anup Kumar Saha, senior officials and staff members from different departments. The initiative formed part of the nationwide observance of International Yoga Day, celebrated annually on June 21 to promote the benefits of yoga and encourage healthy living.

The yoga session was conducted by Manju Sinha, a senior teacher of The Art of Living Foundation, Tripura. Participants engaged in a series of yoga postures, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques designed to improve physical fitness, mental clarity and emotional well-being.

According to a statement issued by the bank, the programme focused on creating awareness about the importance of yoga in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and managing stress in today’s demanding work environment. Employees were encouraged to adopt yoga as a regular practice to enhance their overall quality of life and achieve a better work-life balance.

The event was organised in line with this year’s International Day of Yoga theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” which emphasizes the role of yoga in promoting long-term health, vitality and well-being across all age groups. Speakers at the programme highlighted how regular yoga practice can help improve flexibility, concentration, mental resilience and overall health.

Bank officials stated that Tripura Gramin Bank remains dedicated to promoting employee welfare through various health and wellness initiatives. They noted that programmes such as Yoga Day celebrations help create a positive workplace environment while encouraging staff members to prioritise their physical and mental health.

The observance concluded with participants expressing their appreciation for the initiative and pledging to incorporate yoga into their daily routines. The successful programme reflected the bank’s commitment to fostering a culture of wellness and healthy living among its workforce.
