Agartala, April 11: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Friday inaugurated newly constructed two-storied building of Kalyanpur Class XII School and other developmental project at Kalyanpur and said that the government is working with a positive mindset for the development and overall welfare of the people of this state.

Addressing the inauguration programme, the Chief Minister said that the state government is working for the wide spread of quality education along with development of education infrastructure for the benefit of future generations.

“The recruitment board is trying to fill the shortage of teachers. Adequate funds have been allocated for the education sector in the budget. Coaching centers on science and English subjects will be started in each sub-division this year,” Dr Saha said, adding that 3 degree colleges will be established at Ambassa, Kakraban and Korbook.

The Chief Minister said that a scheme called Chief Minister Balika Samriddhi Yojana has been launched, where an investment of Rs 50,000 will be made for each female child in the family of Antyoday permanently residing in the state. After the child completes 18 years of age, they can withdraw the amount in cash, Dr Saha added.

Underlining the developmental progress of the state, Chief Minister Dr Saha said that widening of 26 km National Highway from Teliamura to Khowai and 4 lane National Highway from Mungiakami to Champaknagar is underway. He said that the state government is working tirelessly to maintain the tradition and culture of the state. Initiatives have been taken to keep the endangered culture alive, he added.

The Chief Minister flagged off and inaugurated the mobile blood supply vehicle of Khoai District Hospital and Shantirbazar District Hospital. He also virtually inaugurated the Kalyanpur block officer’s residence (quarters) built at a cost of Rs 55.41 lakh and Birchandrapur 12th standard school built at a cost of Rs 2.18 crore.
