Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Tuesday inaugurated a two-day national seminar on the theme “NEP 2020: Policy into Practice to Create a Knowledge Economy” at the MBB Shatabarshiki Bhawan of Tripura Central University.

The seminar aims to deliberate on the effective implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 and explore ways to translate its vision into actionable outcomes that can contribute to building a robust knowledge-driven economy. Academicians, policymakers, researchers, and students from across the country are participating in the event.

Addressing the inaugural session, Governor Nallu emphasized the transformative potential of NEP 2020 in reshaping India’s education system. He highlighted that the policy focuses on holistic development, multidisciplinary learning, skill enhancement, and fostering innovation among students. He also stressed the importance of bridging the gap between policy formulation and its implementation on the ground.

The Governor underlined that institutions of higher education play a crucial role in nurturing talent and preparing students to meet global challenges. He encouraged universities and colleges to adopt innovative teaching methods, integrate technology into learning, and promote research and entrepreneurship.

The seminar will feature technical sessions, panel discussions, and presentations by experts, focusing on key aspects such as curriculum reforms, digital education, skill development, and industry-academia collaboration. Participants are expected to share insights and best practices to ensure the successful execution of NEP 2020 objectives.

Officials of the university stated that the seminar will provide a platform for meaningful dialogue and knowledge exchange, helping stakeholders align their efforts toward achieving the goals of the policy.

The two-day event is expected to conclude with recommendations that could guide institutions in effectively implementing NEP 2020 and strengthening India’s journey toward becoming a knowledge-based economy.
