Agartala, April 14: The state fishery minister Sudhangshu Das on Monday announced that the government would sell 6000 kgs of fish at subsidized price in this Pohela Boishakh.

The minister said that aiming to provide high quality fish at subsidized rate to the public, the government has planned to sell fish from 21 designated locations in the state on Tuesday. The fish will be sourced from government run farms, he added.

The minister informed that varieties such as Katla, Rohu, Mrigel, Silver Carp will be made available at subsidized rates, with Hilsa and other sea fish also would be sold at the Gol Bazar point in Agartala. Rohu, Katla, Kalibaush, Silver Carp below 1 kg is Rs220, 1-2 kg is Rs 250 and above 2 kg is Rs350 while Mrigel and Carp below 1 kg is Rs 200, 1-2 kg is Rs 220 and above 2 kg is Rs 350 and Hilsa would be sold 800 gram to 1 kg is Rs 1200 and 1.5 kg is Rs 1500.
