Agartala: April 19: In a significant operation, police seized 345 kilograms of dry cannabis during a search at the Naka Point on National Highway No. 8 in Assam, Agartala. The operation was conducted based on confidential information received by the Churaibari police station. The estimated market value of the seized cannabis is approximately ₹1 crore 3 lakh 50 thousand.

Acting on the tip-off, police set up surveillance at the Naka Point on the highway. During the search, a truck with registration number TR01AQ-1516 was stopped, leading to the discovery of 69 packets containing the cannabis. The truck driver, identified as Manita Mohan Jamatia, a resident of the Teliamura Khamar Bari area, was detained.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter to uncover further details about the smuggling operation.
