Marking World Environment Day with a strong message on environmental conservation, Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers has launched a three-day awareness programme titled “Green Is Gold”, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to promoting sustainability and protecting the environment.
Known for its socially responsible initiatives, the company has consistently used World Environment Day as a platform to raise awareness about the dangers of deforestation, climate change, and global warming. Over the years, Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers has undertaken several campaigns aimed at encouraging citizens to play an active role in preserving the planet.
Earlier initiatives included the widely promoted message, “The Future of Earth Is in Our Hands,” urging people to address the root causes of environmental degradation and work collectively to reverse the damage caused by unchecked deforestation. These campaigns featured multimedia awareness drives, tree plantation programmes at parks and public spaces, maintenance of green areas in housing estates, and distribution of saplings through company showrooms to encourage households to contribute to increasing green cover.
Speaking about this year’s initiative, Rupak Saha, Director of Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers, said the “Green Is Gold” campaign is being held from June 5 to June 7 at prominent green spaces, including Rabindra Sarovar Lakeside in Kolkata and Heritage Park in Agartala.
“These locations attract health-conscious citizens who come to enjoy nature and fresh air. They provide the perfect setting to spread awareness about environmental protection and inspire people to take action,” Saha said.
Explaining the theme, he noted that the title “Green Is Gold” reflects the immense value of the Earth’s green cover, which is essential for sustaining life and maintaining ecological balance. The campaign also includes the distribution of saplings to visitors, with the objective of encouraging greater public participation in environmental conservation.
Through this initiative, the company hopes to strengthen awareness and inspire collective action towards a greener and more sustainable future.
