Agartala, May 12: A pall of gloom strikes the family after a 75 years old grandfather along with his 11 months old grandson died in a tragic road accident at Charilam in Bishalgarh subdivision.

The incident took place on Sunday night at Parimal Chowmuhni bridge area in Sepahijala district of the state after an over-speeding ambulance head on collided with another 4-wheeler, where the 75 years old grandfather Narayan Bhowmik, a local grocer by profession died on the spot, while his 11-month-old grandson Adrik Bhowmik sustained critical injuries. He was later rushed to Agartala GBP Hospital, where is succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

Three other family members – Dolly Rani Bhowmik, Sangita Bhowmik and Pintu Bhowmik, who were inside their car also sustained injuries and they were treated in Bishalgarh hospital and later they were also rushed to Agartala GBP Hospital for advanced treatment.

Alarmed by the incident on Sunday night, the fire engine crews rushed to the spot and rescued them.
