Agartala, June 10: The Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress on Tuesday moved to the Tripura Human Rights Commission and alleged that a section of BJP workers have threatened minority families here in Agartala of dire consequences of they fails to vacate their house.

A delegation of the youth congress led by the state president Neelkamal Saha submitted a memorandum with the commission and demanded protection of youth congress vice president Md Shahajahan and families residing at Agartala Mashjid Patti area.

He alleged that a group of BJP goons entered into the residence of Md Shahajahan at the night of June 8 last and discovered attack on him and his families. The BJP goons vandalized the house of Md Shahajahan and damaged valuable items in his house, he alleged further.

He further alleged that soon after the incident, the BJP goons have threatened Shahajana and his families of dire consequences if they fail to vacate their house. Over the arrest of Shahajahan’s father and brother, the youth congress on Tuesday believed it to be an intimidation of the minority community.

The youth congress labelled the incident as violation of human rights and sought the intervention of the human rights commission.
