Agartala, July 29: Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, paid a visit to Bagmara Agri Producers Company Limited (BAPCL) on Tuesday morning to inspect various integrated farming initiatives being carried out at the site.
During his visit, the Governor toured the Model Integrated Farming System where multiple agricultural activities such as piggery, fishery, poultry, beekeeping, and goat farming are practiced in a coordinated and sustainable manner. He also inspected the milk collection center, oil extraction unit, BAPCL market outlet (MARD), and various product exhibition stalls.
Governor Reddy interacted with local farmers and farm workers, discussing their experiences and aspirations. Speaking at the event, he stated, “Agriculture is the lifeline of Tripura and forms the backbone of its economy. However, to ensure its profitability in a rapidly changing world, we must adopt scientific methods.”
He praised BAPCL’s integrated farming approach, highlighting its climate resilience and resource efficiency, and lauded the organization’s efforts in empowering tribal communities.
As a mark of support, the Governor handed over a cheque worth ₹1 crore to BAPCL’s Managing Director, Mr. Sudip Majumdar, on behalf of Punjab National Bank.
Later, Governor Reddy chaired a meeting on agribusiness and financial empowerment at the BAPCL conference hall. The meeting was attended by MLA Ram Pada Jamatia, Gomati District Magistrate Rinku Lathar, NABARD Tripura Regional Office General Manager Anil Katamari, senior RBI officials, Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank Satyendra Singh, and scientists from ICAR and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK).
