Agartala, August 29: A Jansuraksha Camp was successfully organized today at Harijoy Chowdhury Gram Panchayat under TGB Mohanpur (Jirania) Branch in West Tripura district, drawing active participation from local villagers.
The camp was graced by eminent dignitaries including Shri Diganta Kr. Das, Deputy General Manager of NABARD, Shri Satyendra Singh, Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB), and Shri Samar Kanti Das, Pradhan of Harijoy Chowdhury GP. Senior officials from various government departments were also present, adding significance to the event.
During the program, officials highlighted the importance of financial inclusion and awareness about flagship social security schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY), and the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY). The speakers underlined how these schemes aim to secure the future of rural families by providing affordable insurance, pension, and banking facilities.
A key focus of the camp was on the urgent need for customers to complete Re-KYC of bank accounts, ensuring uninterrupted access to financial services. To facilitate this, the Business Correspondent (BC) of TGB Mohanpur branch was present with the required forms and extended on-the-spot KYC updation services, which many villagers availed of.
A special highlight of the event was the symbolic handing over of a cheque worth ₹2,00,000 to Shri Krishna Dhan Sharma, nominee of a PMJJBY beneficiary, by the dignitaries. This gesture reinforced the tangible benefits of these financial security schemes.
The Jansuraksha campaign, launched by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Government of India, will continue across the country from July 1 to September 30, 2025, aiming to create mass awareness and deepen financial inclusion.
