Agartala, Nov 7: Amid recent tensions between the two ruling alliance partners in Tripura, Tipra Motha founder and leader Pradyot Kishore Debbarma met Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday for what he described as a “positive and constructive” discussion.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Pradyot Kishore said, “We had a very open and constructive conversation. I shared my views, and the Chief Minister also shared his perspective. We both agreed that such dialogues should continue in a cordial manner for the benefit of the people of Tripura.”
He emphasized that the core focus of the meeting was the overall development of the state and the welfare of its people. “Our priority is to move forward, not backward,” he said, stressing the importance of cooperation over confrontation.
Dismissing speculation about political negotiations, Pradyot clarified, “There was no discussion on elections in this meeting. It was a completely positive interaction. We are looking for solutions, not conflicts. The process regarding the Tiprasa Accord is still ongoing.”
Prior to the meeting, Pradyot had stated that his discussion with the Chief Minister would primarily focus on the welfare of all communities—tribal and non-tribal alike—and maintaining unity and harmony across the state. “Everything is not about politics,” he remarked. “We want to work together for the peace, development, and progress of the people of Tripura.”
The meeting between the two leaders comes at a critical juncture, as the ruling coalition faces internal strains. However, both sides appeared to strike a conciliatory tone, signalling a shared commitment to sustaining stability and inclusive development in Tripura.
