Families of three Tripura residents who died in Bengaluru seek state aid
Agartala, Oct 22: Families of three Tripura residents who died in Bengaluru have sought urgent financial and administrative assistance from the state government and the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) to bring their mortal remains home for the last rites.
The deceased have been identified as Sajjit Debbarma (43), Laxmi Debbarma (22) and Parikshit Debbarma. All three had reportedly travelled to Bengaluru in search of employment and better livelihood opportunities.
The circumstances surrounding their deaths remain unclear, and their families are awaiting official information about the cause of the tragedy.
The uncertainty has compounded the grief of the bereaved families, who are struggling to cope with the sudden loss while arranging to transport the bodies to their native places in Tripura.
Family members said the expenses involved in transporting the mortal remains from Bengaluru to Tripura were beyond their financial means. They have appealed to the state government and TTAADC authorities for financial assistance and logistical support to facilitate the return of the bodies.
The families have also urged the authorities to intervene promptly and expedite the necessary formalities so that the mortal remains can be brought home and the last rites performed without further delay.
The deaths have caused concern in the deceased persons' native areas, where relatives and community members are awaiting further information about the circumstances in which the three residents died.
For the families, the immediate challenge is to arrange the transportation of their loved ones while dealing with the emotional and financial burden of the loss. They have stressed the need for timely assistance to ensure that the bodies can be returned to Tripura at the earliest.
The incident has also highlighted the difficulties faced by economically vulnerable families when relatives working outside their home state die unexpectedly. In such circumstances, families may have to meet substantial transportation costs and complete administrative formalities in a state far from their homes.
