Agartala: May 11: A press conference was organized today by the Central Town Jame Mosque in Shantipara, Agartala, where local residents and mosque committee officials discussed the ongoing case against Shahjahan Islam. During the event, they called for appropriate legal action regarding the allegations while underscoring the importance of fairness.

Speakers at the conference clarified that Shahjahan Islam’s family members are not implicated in any charges. They urged both the administration and society to ensure that individuals unrelated to the case do not face undue consequences or harassment.

One committee member emphasized the need for justice and humanity, stating: 

“Whoever the offender may be, they must be brought to justice. However, if their family members are not guilty, allowing them to live in peace is an act of humanity.”

The statement resonated with many in the community, who have welcomed the balanced approach. The initiative has been widely appreciated for promoting peace and social harmony.
