Agartala, July 19: MP for West Tripura Parliamentary constituency and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb recently sought the intervention of the Cnetre and demanded repairing of the road stretching from Churaibari to Agartala and construction of drainage system along the National Highway at Shantirbazar in South Tripura.

On June 30, Deb had written to the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, highlighting the urgent need for repairs and renovation of the crucial highway connecting Churaibari to the state capital. In response, the Union Minister assured that the matter is under serious review by the concerned authorities and necessary steps are being initiated. The Ministry has also assured that further details will be communicated shortly.

In addition to the highway repair request, Deb had also drawn attention on July 1 to the poor drainage conditions on both sides of NH-8 in the Shantirbazar market area. The Union Minister has assured that this issue too will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken.

The response from the central ministry has raised hopes for swift improvement of road and drainage infrastructure in the state, addressing long-standing public concerns.
