Bengaluru, Jan 5:
Karnataka BJP president and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra on Monday accused the Congress-led state government of colluding to “turn Karnataka into another Bangladesh,” as he led a protest near the Country Club on Bagalur Main Road under the slogan “Save Kogilu, remove illegal migrants.”

Addressing party workers and supporters, Vijayendra strongly condemned the alleged move to allot houses to illegal migrants, calling it an “unpardonable crime.” He said the BJP would launch statewide protests against what he termed appeasement politics. He alleged that Congress leaders and workers in Kogilu had facilitated water and electricity connections for illegal occupants and collected bribes ranging from Rs 2 to Rs 3 lakh.

Vijayendra further claimed that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reversed demolition decisions after alleged pressure from AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, fearing for his position. He also accused Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar of political manoeuvring to advance his own ambitions.

Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy questioned the legality of providing houses to Rohingyas, while former Deputy Chief Minister C.N. Ashwath Narayan termed the government’s actions immoral and illegal. BJP leaders said the issue has sparked widespread concern across Karnataka.
