With the central theme “Maximizing brain development in the first six years of life,” the nationwide Poshan Pakhwada 2026 is being actively observed across the country, including in Kadamtala. The campaign, which commenced on April 9 and will continue until April 23, aims to raise awareness about the critical role of nutrition in building a healthier and stronger India.
As part of the ongoing initiative, a special programme was organized on Tuesday at multiple Anganwadi centres in the Bargul Gram Panchayat area. The event was conducted under the initiative of the Udbhabani Social Organization, focusing on improving nutritional awareness among vulnerable sections of society.
The programme featured the distribution of nutritious food items among Anganwadi children and pregnant women. This effort highlighted the importance of balanced diets, particularly during early childhood and pregnancy, which are crucial stages for physical growth and cognitive development. Organizers emphasized that proper nutrition during the first six years of life significantly impacts brain development and overall health outcomes.
According to the organizers, the primary objective of the initiative is to enhance the nutritional status of children, women, and adolescents. By addressing malnutrition and promoting healthy eating habits, the campaign seeks to contribute to the broader vision of a healthy and resilient nation.
The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries and community members. Mihir Ranjan Nath attended as the chief guest and appreciated the efforts of the organizers in spreading awareness about nutrition at the grassroots level. Members of the organizing body, including Priyanka Nirula and Pooja Nath, were also present, along with Anganwadi workers who played a key role in executing the programme.
The event was smoothly conducted under the anchoring of Udbhabani member Nabamita Nath, ensuring active participation and engagement from attendees. The initiative reflects a collective effort to promote nutrition awareness and foster healthier communities at the grassroots level.
