Tripura’s Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy on Thursday expressed strong confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will secure a decisive victory in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections and go on to form the council.

Speaking to the media ahead of the vote counting scheduled for April 17, Roy said the results are expected to favour the BJP, citing the party’s governance record over the past eight years. He emphasized that the BJP has transformed the political landscape of the state through a focus on welfare initiatives and development-driven policies.

“All of you are aware that counting for the TTAADC elections will take place on April 17. The results will definitely be in our favour,” Roy said. “Over the last eight years, the BJP has redefined politics by prioritizing development and welfare. This approach has resonated with people across the state, including those in Janajati areas.”

The minister asserted that voters in tribal regions have supported the BJP with the expectation of a development-oriented council that will address their long-standing concerns. According to him, the party’s emphasis on infrastructure, social welfare schemes, and inclusive growth has strengthened its connection with grassroots communities.

Roy further noted that the BJP’s consistent efforts to improve living standards and expand opportunities in rural and tribal areas would be reflected in the election outcome. He maintained that the electorate has recognized the difference between traditional politics and the BJP’s development-focused governance model.

As the state awaits the counting of votes, Roy reiterated the party’s optimism about forming the council. The TTAADC results are being closely watched, as they are expected to shape the political dynamics in Tripura’s tribal regions in the coming years.
