Agartala: Former Tripura Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP from West Tripura, Biplab Kumar Deb, on Monday described the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) performance in the West Bengal Assembly elections as a strong mandate for development, stability, and transparent governance.
In a statement shared on social media, Deb congratulated the people of West Bengal and BJP workers, crediting the outcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s strategy, and the party’s organisational strength. He said the verdict reflects the people’s aspiration for progress and a shift away from what he termed as “politics of fear and appeasement.”
“The people of Bengal have chosen development and good governance. This mandate shows their desire for a stable government that can deliver growth and prosperity,” Deb said.
Speaking to reporters, Deb struck a confident note about the BJP’s political trajectory. “Defeat is not written in my stars; I came to Bengal with the goal of establishing a BJP government,” he remarked, adding that the results underline a growing public demand for transformation and development-driven policies.
Deb described the outcome as a “victory for the people,” asserting that it reinforces the BJP’s commitment to representing public sentiment and fulfilling its promises. He also pointed to the party’s continued success in other regions, including the Dharmanagar by-election in Tripura, as evidence of expanding support.
According to Deb, the combined results from multiple states indicate a broader shift in India’s political landscape, with voters increasingly favouring governance models focused on development, accountability, and stability. He expressed confidence that the BJP would continue to build on this momentum in the coming years.
