Agartala, April 29: The state agriculture and farmers’ welfare minister Ratan Lal Nath on Tuesday visited a watermelon cultivation farming land at Kanchanmala and encouraged self-reliant through agricultural farming.
During his visit, the minister interacted with the watermelon farmer Narayan Sarkar and said, “Today I am truly happy to see how Narayan Sarkar has taken such a positive initiative. His field is filled with high-quality and delicious varieties of watermelon, especially the yellow and green ones, which are in high demand.”
“It is not possible to ensure government jobs for all. But through vegetable and watermelon farming, many can become self-reliant,” minister said.
The Minister was accompanied by the Director of the Agriculture Department, Dr. P. B. Jamatia and several departmental officials. Kanchanmala Gram Panchayat Pradhan Rajesh Das was also present at the event.
