In a significant move to improve the quality of school education and generate employment, the Tripura Cabinet has approved the creation and recruitment of 1,615 teaching positions across secondary and higher secondary levels.

Addressing the media on the Cabinet’s decisions, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced that 915 Postgraduate Teachers (PGTs) will be appointed for Classes XI and XII. These positions will be spread across various subjects, including English (70), Kokborok (75), Bengali (50), History (71), Political Science (65), Philosophy (6), Geography (80), Sanskrit (20), Economics (80), Physics (55), Chemistry (59), Biology (45), Mathematics (50), Commerce (33), Sociology (70), and Psychology (86).

In addition, 700 Graduate Teachers will be recruited for Classes IX and X to address the ongoing shortage of subject teachers in secondary schools. This step aims to enhance teaching standards and ensure students receive quality education.

The recruitment process will be carried out by the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT), and appointments will be made on a fixed pay basis.

The Cabinet also approved the recruitment of six Dental Medical Officers through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC). Furthermore, 37 key academic and administrative posts will be filled at the National Law University, Tripura. These include positions such as Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, Deputy Registrar, and Assistant Registrar.

This wide-ranging recruitment drive marks a major stride in strengthening the state’s education and healthcare sectors while offering substantial job opportunities to qualified candidates.
