Jind, July 20: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for entrusting the leadership of Delhi to Rekha Gupta, a daughter of Nandgarh village, as she celebrated her 51st birthday in her hometown. Addressing a special programme held in Nandgarh, Julana Assembly constituency, CM Saini called Gupta’s political journey “a symbol of changing India.”
“It is truly inspiring that someone born in a small village like Nandgarh can rise to become Chief Minister of Delhi. Her success sends a powerful message to the nation—that in today’s India, success is earned, not inherited,” said CM Saini.
He lauded the triple-engine government led by the Prime Minister for driving rapid development in the region. CM Saini highlighted that ₹20,433 crore worth of development projects have been undertaken in Julana constituency since 2014, compared to just ₹202 crore during the previous Congress regime. Of the 88 announcements made for Julana, 85 have been completed, with work ongoing on the rest.
He also recalled PM Modi’s visit to Panipat in 2015 to launch the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign, which, he said, laid the foundation for empowering daughters in Haryana.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed gratitude to the people of Haryana and reflected on her deep emotional connection with Nandgarh. “This village is not just my birthplace but my foundation. The BJP has shown true democratic values by allowing a daughter from an ordinary family to lead a major state,” she said.
Praising CM Saini’s leadership, Gupta said Haryana’s improved road infrastructure and development initiatives reflect strong governance. She stressed that the vision of a Viksit Bharat can only be achieved through a Viksit Haryana and Viksit Delhi.
