Agartala: April 12:  In a significant breakthrough against drug trafficking, Assam Rifles and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) successfully intercepted a vehicle in Teliamura yesterday. The operation resulted in the seizure of **60,000 yaba tablets**, valued at **approximately ₹6 crore** in the international market. Two individuals were also apprehended during the operation.

According to a statement released by Assam Rifles, the recovery was made following secret intelligence inputs regarding narcotics being smuggled in a vehicle with registration number **S01AV1079**. Acting on this information, law enforcement agencies set up surveillance in the area, leading to the interception and seizure.

The arrested individuals have been identified as **Dilbar Hussain**, a resident of Hailakandi, Assam, and **Md. Zuber Ahmed**, a resident of Karimganj, Assam. The suspects, along with the confiscated narcotics, have been handed over to the DRI for further investigation and legal action.

This operation underscores Assam Rifles’ commitment to combating drug trafficking and maintaining regional security.
