Agartala, Sep 27: The state government is actively working to ensure that various welfare schemes and benefits reach the most marginalized individuals in society. Both central and state government development initiatives are being effectively implemented to improve the lives of the people, said Tripura’s Cooperation Minister Shuklacharan Noatia.
Speaking at a distribution ceremony organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education at Agnibeena Hall in Bilonia, Minister Noatia said that several new projects are being undertaken and implemented with the aim of socio-economic development. Special emphasis is being placed on women’s empowerment, he added.
The event marked the distribution of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, hearing aids, and mobility aids among persons with disabilities (Divyangjan). Approval letters for disability pensions were also handed over to eligible beneficiaries.
Minister Noatia highlighted various central and state government welfare schemes during his speech, emphasizing the government’s commitment to inclusive development.
Also present at the event were Deepak Dutta, Chairperson of the South Tripura Zilla Parishad; Dipayan Choudhury, Member of the Tripura Sports Council; and Prabir Debbarma, District Social Education Officer, who delivered the welcome address.
The event was presided over by Nikhil Chandra Ghosh, Chairperson of Bilonia Municipal Council.
