Agartala, April 01: The Tripura government is committed to fill up vacant posts by maintaining transparency, said finance minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Tuesday.

Replying to the query of the Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman in the assembly session on Tuesday, the finance minister said that 6,009 posts were created during the last 2 years, while approval has been given for filing up of 12,338 vacant posts in various departments, which is presently under progress and soon the posts will be filled up.

“31,056 posts lied vacant following retirement from 2018-19 to 2024-25 financial year,” he said, adding that out of this, the vacant posts are of Group-A, Group-B and Group-C vacancies excluding 6,779 Group-D posts.

He said that at least 17,554 vacant posts were filled up including die-in-harness and cadre services after the present government assumed power. From 2018-19 to 2024-25 financial year, 1,540 people were given employment under the die-in-harness scheme. The finance minister said that 200 junior engineers (degree) are in the process of filling up the posts approved by the finance department.

The finance department has approved recruitment of 16 super specialist doctors and 172 specialist doctors, he said, adding that the finance department has approved to fill up 400 posts of Assistant Professor. Besides, Finance Department has approved 218 Sub-Inspectors, 433 Agri Assistants, 125 Amin Posts, 28 Forest Ranger Posts.
