Agartala, June 21: Daily yoga practice can lead to both physical fitness and mental well-being, said Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Saturday after joining the celebration of 11th International Yoga Day here at Agartala.

The state level celebration of the day was held here at Agartala Hapania International Fair Ground on Saturday. The department of Sports and Youth Affairs has organised the state level celebration. Minister Tinku Roy also joined the event.

Addressing the gathering, CM Dr Saha encouraged daily yoga practise for well being.

He said that recognising the profound benefits of this ancient Indian practice, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s initiative has played a pivotal role in bringing yoga to the global stage, making it widely respected beyond the borders of India.

Dr Saha emphasized the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life and encouraged everyone to embrace it as a path toward a healthier and more peaceful existence.

The event featured mass yoga demonstrations, awareness talks, and cultural presentations, reinforcing the message of unity, discipline, and wellness that yoga embodies.
