Agartala, May 18: Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) has been honoured with the prestigious “Best Performing Bank under SAMRIDDHI 2.0” award by the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) under the Rural Development Department, Government of Tripura, for the financial year 2025–26.
The award was presented on Sunday during a grand programme held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan in Agartala. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha handed over the honour in the presence of several senior officials and dignitaries, including Rural Development Department Secretary Abhishek Singh, IAS, TRLM Chief Executive Officer Tarit Kanti Chakma, IAS, and representatives from different financial institutions and Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
The recognition highlights Tripura Gramin Bank’s significant contribution towards strengthening rural livelihoods, empowering women through financial inclusion, and supporting the growth of Self-Help Groups across the state. Through various banking and credit support initiatives, the bank has played an important role in promoting women entrepreneurship and socio-economic development in rural Tripura.
Officials stated that the SAMRIDDHI 2.0 initiative has been instrumental in improving access to financial services for SHGs and enhancing livelihood opportunities in rural areas. Tripura Gramin Bank’s active participation and consistent performance under the programme helped it emerge as the top-performing bank during the financial year.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives of the bank expressed gratitude to the Government of Tripura and the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission for the recognition. The bank also thanked its customers, SHG members, stakeholders, and employees for their trust, cooperation, and support in achieving the milestone.
The management of Tripura Gramin Bank said the achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of the entire TGB family, whose people-centric banking approach has contributed to strengthening rural economic growth and financial empowerment.
The bank reiterated its commitment to continuing efforts toward inclusive development and expanding access to banking services across rural regions of the state. Officials added that TGB will continue to work closely with SHGs and rural communities to help build a stronger, self-reliant, and financially empowered Tripura in the years ahead.
